Patrick Raymond Tedders M.P.S.I. from Schrule, Co.. Mayo opened Tedders Chemist in Edenderry, Co. Offaly on Tuesday 27th December 1949. This premises was located on the western side on 70 J.K.L. Street. (Photograph shows Thomas Phelan from Rhode in front of the original Tedders Chemist)

In 1965, Patrick Raymond, together with his wife Carmel, decided to relocate the pharmacy to the eastern side of the premises

This photograph shows (l to r) Mr. C Smyth Carbury, Mr. Robert Goldie and Mr. Patrick Raymond Tedders (Circa 1965). Michael and Angela Tedders took over the running of the business in July 1983 and continued to do so until their retirement in November 2017

The pharmacy is now owned and managed by Chris Monaghan MPSI. He completed his MPharm at the Robert Gordon University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 2009. He worked in a community pharmacy in Belfast before moving to and settling in Mullingar in 2010 following his marriage to local girl, Anna O’Neill.
